Social Sharing Has Been Fixed

Over the last few days we’ve gone through every page on this website and updated it for optimal Facebook sharing. Unfortunately, there was an issue that caused almost all of all our posts to display a small portion of our logo as the featured image. We believe this may have discouraged many people from sharing our posts due to how it appeared. We apologize for this oversight and have made it right. Now, all of our posts will have a high quality image to go along with the post. See below for a before and after example.

Covering Testimony: Hannah Falanga

1) Introduce yourself to our readers.

I am a homemaker. I feel the Lord has called me to be this, as an example of someone who can, Lord willing, live well in such a setting—not trapped, not unfulfilled, not even unsuccessful, but rather someone who is following the Lord’s extremely personal calling for her life. I am a young lady in search of the set-apart life, living in hope of eternal life in Christ Jesus, governed by my Lord Jesus, living my life for the Lord by being an artist, fiber artist (crocheting and knitting), cook and baker, writer and blogger.

2) Where do you attend church? Tell us a little bit about it.

I go to church at my local Calvary Chapel. It is a Bible upholding, traditional marriage teaching, pro-life loving, God fearing church which I am blessed to be a part of. The teaching there is not only sound, but challenging and in-depth. I am currently the only lady (or nearly the only—the other woman may be in another service) to wear a headcovering. Read more

Covering The Web

Shining a spotlight on the head covering discussion happening worldwide.

    • Rethinking Covering (Modern{ish} Life)
“It became clear to me that one way I can submit to God’s authority in my life in a tangible way is to cover my hair in church…As I pray, worship and learn during the church services I have a constant reminder of my position in God’s order of things and of the One who is in control of my life.”
    • Husband on Head Covering (ModestGeneration910)
“Hi, this is Nate, Candace is my wife and I wanted to write this post to express what it is like from the husband’s perspective of a “head covering” wife….I wanted to give you 5 reasons why I personally like that my wife covers her head and also expound on some of the effects it may have on “onlooking” men.”
    • The Blessings of Headcovering (Truth at Home)
“So far, I’ve shared with you some of what has made headcovering a challenge for me. But to dwell only on the challenges would be unbalanced; now I’d like to highlight what has made headcovering a blessing!”
    • Ahn Sahng-hong, Cambodia, and Head Coverings (Reformed Christian Theology)
Glad he stood up for this teaching! “During the prayer, a woman ran up to my wife and said in Khmer that she should remove her hat and show respect. We were a little flabbergasted, being that the reason she wore that hat was precisely in order to show respect.”
    • Index (aka Another Missed Deadline) (A Kiwi and an Emu)
An index of all the posts on headcovering he’s made in the last few months. We posted the first two in previous editions of “Covering the Web”.

Headship and Head Covering (Sermon)

Head Covering Sermons

Preacher: Chalan Hetherington | Sermon Length: 60 min | Year preached: February 2015

Chalan Hetherington

Pastor Hetherington is the full time minister at Bennetts End Reformed Baptist Church in Hemel Hempstead, England. Since by grace being brought to repentance and faith in 1993, he has studied, and also served the Lord at this Church in the various areas and Church offices. In January 2009 he was called to be the Church’s Pastor. A strong proponent of expository preaching, his fervour and gift lies in the area of verse by verse exposition, seeking to follow in the way of God honoured Puritan preaching, believing that the sermon is not just hinged to Scripture; but that it is inside the Word of God. In other words “the Text” is not in the sermon, but that the sermon is in “the Text”. Pastor is married and has four grown children and four grandchildren.

Shining a spotlight on the head covering discussion happening worldwide.

  • Headcovering testimony of Sister Jessica (Little maiden’s journey with Jesus)
“This person marched angrily up to me, and without even asking me how I was, or giving me any sort of polite greeting, said, “Why are you wearing that on your head? Why are you trying to be saved by works?” Struck with such a blow, I couldn’t answer right away.”
  • My Head Covering Haul From Five Below (Super Radical Christian Writer Chick)
“I’m super excited. I got six head coverings from the cute and trendy Five Below store my daughters frequent…Here are my photos! Enjoy!”
  • Clothed in Christ (Bible League Trust)
“What follows, then, will explore key verses in the New Testament that speak of how the Christian should appear beyond the heart, ranging from clothing and head covering to jewellery and physical appearance.”
  • My Favorite Head Covering Styles (YouTube)
“This video shows various head covering styles and how to do them.”
  • What Has Come Over Me: Why I’m Wearing Head Covering (After “Normal” Ends)
“A precious friend recently asked me what happened that I suddenly felt called so strongly to submission and head covering. My immediate response was that my marriage was at a crucial point, and something drastic needed to take place in order to ensure it survived. This is a very accurate claim.”

Covering Testimony: Mindy Sue Freeman

1) Introduce yourself to our readers.

My name is Mindy Sue. I am a wife and a stay-at-home mom to two little boys (and another baby coming in March!). I love to sew and create many other crafts from recycled materials although most of my time these days is spent cooking, cleaning and teaching the ABC’s. I look forward to working in the vegetable garden when the weather’s nice and we hope to have livestock soon, too (fresh eggs, yum!). When I’m not pregnant [which isn’t very often:)] I like to help my husband with landscaping and home repairs and anything that will get my hands dirty and work up a good sweat.

2) Where do you attend church? Tell us a little bit about it.

My family has recently started a local Church of Christ assembly. My husband and I both have been going to Baptist churches for years but since moving to this area and having difficulty finding a good fit in a Baptist Church we decided to try a Church of Christ. Although there are a few theological differences we appreciate their exegetical teaching and their commitment to adhere to God’s word. As far as I can tell, I am the only one who wears a head covering. Read more
