Covering The Web

Shining a spotlight on the head covering discussion happening worldwide.

  • A Modern Woman and the Headcovering (A Wordy Woman)
“I heard preaching that warned of excluding pieces of the bible that seemed inconvenient to a certain agenda or doctrine. The claim was made, if you see anything that you don’t find in accordance to God’s word, you’d be our friend to show us. I soon learned that friendship extended to just about every bible passage except the first half of 1 Corinthians 11- the head covering.”
  • Grief over head coverings (Reformed Christian Theology)
“Whenever the issue comes up, I feel that all it causes me is grief. The non-believer is not the one who takes issue, he finds Christianity strange to begin with. It is the believer who takes issue.”
  • Hats of the past (Northeast Arkansas Town Crier)
“While we do not know the exact date of the first hat, it was most likely when man sought protection from the elements. We know that women began wearing hats during the Middle Ages when the Church decreed that their hair must be covered.”
  • Headcovering & Cringing (Frugal Abundance)
“When I started wearing a headcovering, I did a lot of cringing. In public, I looked weird. I wasn’t exactly comfortable with wearing it yet….After 10 years, I don’t even give it a second thought. A headcovering is simply part of my way of life.”
